Westport Village

In 2005, a once bustling East Louisville shopping center stood in disrepair after its anchoring tenant, Winn Dixie Supermarket, closed its doors. Locals saw a tired strip mall, but our team saw an opportunity to breathe life into the space and create a retail destination.

Louisville’s call for a boutique-style retail center was answered when our team broke ground on Westport Village in 2006, transforming the underperforming 153,000 square feet of underperforming space into 172,000 square feet of modern retail units that would soon be home to local small businesses and restaurants. Despite opening just before the Great Recession in 2008, Westport Village achieved 100% occupancy in 2 years.

Reimagining a center of this size required significant consideration of the redevelopment of the property, as well as the expansion of existing infrastructure to prepare for an influx of traffic. Our team served in a construction management and property management capacity until the asset was sold in 2013 to a Chicago-based real estate investment firm.

Today, Westport Village remains a cornerstone of East Louisville and is the city’s most beloved local retail destination.
