Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized accounting professional to oversee all accounting and financial operations for a growing portfolio of companies, including a commercial landscaping business and affiliated real estate entities. This position will manage all core accounting functions, from daily transactions to financial reporting and investor analysis, while helping shape the financial infrastructure of a fast-growing organization. The role offers flexibility in scheduling and the potential for reduced hours if desired.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

  • Manage all accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll across multiple entities.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, maintain the general ledger, and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
  • Assist external CPA firms with annual tax filings and audits.
  • Streamline processes to increase efficiency and data accuracy across entities.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across entities.
  • Track performance vs. budget and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and refine financial models to support decision-making and growth planning.

Investor & Property-Level Support

  • Prepare quarterly investor analyses, distribution schedules, and capital account tracking.
  • Support property managers with tenant accounting, expense allocations, and budget reviews.
  • Coordinate with ownership on reporting packages and funding needs.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Maintain and improve workflows in QuickBooks Online, Expensify, Yardi Breeze, and related platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (preferably in real estate, construction, or multi-entity operations).
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel; experience with Yardi Breeze or similar property software strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of GAAP financials, intercompany accounting, and investor reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with ownership and outside professionals.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $95,000 (commensurate with experience).
  • Bonus Potential: Performance-based annual bonus.
